In an endeavor to further the Pak-China educational relationship, 99 students from Gwadar received the Chinese Consular Scholarship Programme in a ceremony at the Gwadar Business Center.
The scholarships were awarded to male and female students studying various academic courses like Pharm D, MBBS, BBA, Sociology, Civil Engineering, Fine Arts, Political Science, Radiology, Botany, and Public Administration, among others. Out of the 99 recipients, 30 were female and 39 male students from the University of Gwadar, Pak-China Technical & Vocational Institute, and other universities.
Speaking on the occasion remotely, Chinese Consul General in Karachi Yang Yundong welcomed the initiative as a milestone towards the promotion of quality education and provision of support to deserving students in the region. He reiterated China's ongoing commitment to empowering Gwadar's youth through educational assistance and capacity building.
Yundong also pointed to a number of ongoing and completed projects by the Chinese government in Gwadar, such as the distribution of solar panels, food assistance, medical and education programs, and livelihood projects targeting community development.
He also guaranteed that additional people-oriented projects are in the pipeline to further foster cooperation and reap tangible benefits for the people of Gwadar, according to Gwadar Pro.
The event is another milestone in the expanding Pak-China collaboration in education and development.
