BIS Abu Dhabi Students Secure UAE Golden Visas for Academic Excellence

    • BISAD students awarded UAE Golden Visas for exceptional academic performance in BTEC and IBDP programmes.
    • 6 of 7 BTEC graduates and 9 IBDP high achievers (scoring 40+ points) received the prestigious long-term residency.
    • Students, parents, and school leaders celebrated the recognition as a testament to BISAD’s commitment to excellence and future opportunities.

The British International School Abu Dhabi (BISAD), which is part of the Nord Anglia Education network, has marked a milestone achievement as some of its pupils received the coveted UAE Golden Visa for their outstanding academic performance. The award followed high achievement in the BTEC programme as well as the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), highlighting the dedication of the school to developing excellence.

This year was particularly noteworthy for BISAD's BTEC students. Of seven students who finished the programme, six were nominated for the Golden Visa, a long-term residency awarded to those who show outstanding talent and achievement. The nominations reflect the quality of BISAD's BTEC programme as well as the determination of its students, providing a powerful example of the potential which these routes can build.

In addition to this achievement, graduates of the school's IBDP also did well. Nine pupils achieved 40 points or more, which put them among the best in the world for one of the most demanding academic qualifications. These pupils were also granted Golden Visas, again upholding the acknowledgement of their perseverance, determination, and hard work.

Receiving the Golden Visa recognition means so much for my future, and I’d encourage anyone considering the BTEC to go for it it really does open doors internationally”. Parents too reflected on the moment with emotion.

One parent described their daughter’s journey with admiration, saying, “Kayla has truly inspired us as her parents. She achieved these merits because of her hard work, focus, and dedication. Watching her succeed fills our hearts with boundless joy. To be recognised and nominated for a UAE Golden Visa is an honour, and we are sincerely proud”.

For the school leadership, the achievement symbolises not only academic success but also the values BISAD instills in its students. Principal Alan Cocker praised the accomplishment, noting, “At BISAD, we believe every student’s journey is unique, and we’re proud to create personalised learning pathways that prepare them for success in higher education, the workplace, and life beyond school. Seeing so many of our BTEC and IBDP graduates recognised with Golden Visas is an incredible achievement. It not only invests in their future but also reflects the calibre, hard work, and aspirations of our students; we could not be prouder”.
