HEI Schools Indonesia has opened a second campus in Jakarta, HEI Schools SPM Menteng, located in the heart of the city. The new preschool opens in partnership with Sekolah Perkumpulan Mandiri (SPM). This latest launch is another significant milestone for the Finnish early childhood education provider, which first introduced its model to Indonesia through its Senayan campus in 2020. The opening was attended by Pekka Kaihilahti, the Finnish Ambassador to Indonesia, ASEAN and Timor-Leste.
HEI Schools SPM Menteng offers early childhood education based on Finland's internationally acclaimed curriculum, supported by research from the University of Helsinki. At the heart of the HEI philosophy is a play-based and child-led approach that fosters joy, curiosity, and holistic development, which has already seen great success on the Senayan campus as families increasingly come to appreciate Finnish-style schooling for its focus on creativity, emotional well-being, and foundational skills.
The expansion into Menteng is a response to growing demand in Jakarta for progressive early childhood programs that place children's natural interests and intrinsic motivation at the forefront. What really sets the new Menteng campus apart, however, is its unique setting within a cultural heritage building, marrying the historic charm of the area with the clean, modern aesthetics of Finnish-inspired educational design.

The thoughtfully curated learning environment includes an indoor gym, music room, outdoor playground, and creative exploration zones-spaces intentionally designed to encourage movement, imagination, and social interaction. These facilities are in line with Finland's research-backed approach, which looks at the learning environment as an integral part of a child's development that supports both structured and free play.
With this second campus, HEI Schools Indonesia further consolidates its presence in the capital by offering both Senayan and Menteng families access to Finnish-style preschool pathways. Furthermore, the partnership with Sekolah Perkumpulan Mandiri ensures continuity in the learning journey-a child can progress smoothly from HEI's early childhood program right into SPM's primary education levels. This integrated pathway reflects a mutual commitment toward high-quality, future-ready education that equips young learners with the confidence, curiosity, and skills needed to thrive.
