GrabForGood Fund Pledges US$3.2M For 2026 Education Projects

    • Grab has committed US$3.2 million for 2026 through its GrabForGood Fund to support education, social care, and disaster relief across Southeast Asia.
    • The fund will expand initiatives like GrabScholar, providing bursaries and full scholarships for underprivileged students, alongside school nutrition and health programmes to improve learning outcomes.
    • Since 2022, the fund has supported over 8,200 students in countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, while also backing community nutrition, skills training, and sustainability projects.

Grab has announced a new commitment of US$3.2 million for 2026 through its GrabForGood Fund, reinforcing the company’s efforts to support communities across Southeast Asia through education, social care and disaster relief initiatives.

The funding will support a range of programmes across the region, with a strong focus on expanding educational opportunities and improving the well-being of underserved communities. Among the key initiatives is the GrabScholar programme, which provides bursaries to underprivileged schoolchildren and full-ride scholarships for students who show strong academic potential but face financial barriers. In addition to scholarships, the initiative also supports school nutrition and health programmes designed to help students stay focused and perform better in their studies.

The GrabForGood Fund was established to ensure that the company’s growth directly benefits the communities it serves. The initiative was initially anchored by a personal contribution of more than US$16 million from Grab’s co-founder and group CEO, Anthony Tan, alongside support from other individual and institutional donors. Since its launch, the fund has aimed to remove barriers that prevent individuals and families from accessing opportunities for education and financial stability.

The new 2026 commitment follows a year of strong impact in 2025, when the fund distributed more than US$2 million to support social programmes across the region. During that period, more than 3,600 students benefited from the GrabScholar initiative through bursaries and university scholarships. Since the programme began in 2022, it has supported over 8,200 students across several Southeast Asian countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The fund has also supported community projects aimed at improving nutrition and education outcomes. In the Philippines, the initiative partnered with Rise Against Hunger Philippines to launch a dietary supplementation programme that provides daily rice-soy meals to more than 2,600 children, helping address malnutrition and support healthier learning environments.

Beyond the GrabForGood Fund, Grab continues to run a number of programmes aimed at empowering its driver and delivery partners, including skills training through GrabAcademy and initiatives designed to create more earning opportunities for women and persons with disabilities. Environmental sustainability efforts are also part of the company’s broader mission, with several conservation and climate projects supported across Southeast Asia. Through these initiatives, Grab aims to combine business growth with meaningful social and environmental impact across the region.
