- IIM Ahmedabad inaugurated its first overseas campus in Dubai International Academic City, aligned with Dubai’s Education 33 Strategy.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahemdabad has set up its very first international campus in Dubai international Academic City. The inaugural function was conducted with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, and India's Ambassador to the UAE Sunjay Sudhir, along with other IIMA officials.
According to an official statement, the Dubai campus was established with the joint vision of the leadership of India and Dubai. The initiative is aligned with Dubai’s Education 33 Strategy, which seeks to position the city among the top 10 global student destinations by 2033.
Delivering a speech at the inaugural ceremony, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the new campus embodies the spirit of 'Indian in spirit, global in outlook' and symbolizes an important milestone in India-UAE knowledge cooperation.
The Dubai campus has launched a one-year full-time MBA programme for international professionals and entrepreneurs. The programme, spread over five terms, is aimed at delivering upgraded management education and cross-country exposure. The first cohort has 35 students, 27 of whom are male (77.14 percent) and 8 female (22.86 percent). The students hail from various sectors such as banking, financial services and insurance, consulting, IT, manufacturing, and healthcare.

As per IIMA, the two centres of excellence in the first year in the Dubai campus will include one dedicated to case writing and development and the other to start-up incubation. Further programmes will be launched in the future as the campus grows.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi opened its first international campus in Abu Dhabi on September 3, last year during a similar time. The campus provides courses in energy engineering and computer science, according to the needs of the region and worldwide sustainability goal. Its first batch had 52 students pursuing BTech courses in Computer Science and Engineering and Energy Engineering.
Along with the launch of IIM-A's first overseas campus, on September 10, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Atal Incubation Centre in the campus and rolled out PhD and BTech programs in Chemical Engineering and Energy and Sustainability.
