IMDA Scales AI Training Program For 40,000 Workers

    Singapore is stepping up its investment in the future of artificial intelligence training and digital workforce development as the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) announced major plans to expand its TechSkills Accelerator (TeSA) program over the next three years. The initiative aims to train 40,000 technology professionals and final-year Information and Digital Technologies (IDT) students under the country’s growing National AI Impact Program (NAIIP). The move reflects Singapore’s strong commitment to preparing workers for the rapidly evolving AI economy and creating more opportunities for tech talent to stay competitive in the global market.

    As part of the expansion, IMDA will launch new AI fluency programm designed to help professionals better understand and adapt to the latest developments in artificial intelligence, including emerging workplace applications and automation tools. IMDA will also work closely with Workforce Singapore, the Singapore Computer Society, SGTech, and the Tech Talent Assembly to study how AI is transforming tech jobs and to ensure training programm remain aligned with industry needs.

    A major highlight is the launch of AIxTech, a new training program developed with AI Singapore (AISG) that focuses on AI software engineering, responsible AI, and practical AI integration into daily workflows. Participants will learn how to automate coding tasks, use advanced AI tools, and develop agentic AI systems using platforms such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, and Codex. The program also offers self-paced online learning, advanced modules, access to professional AI communities, and up to $600 in AI tool credits.

    The course fee is heavily subsidized at $180 for eligible Singapore residents, while final-year IDT students can join free, making this one of Singapore’s most accessible and career-focused AI upskilling opportunities to date.
