Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University (DDUGU) has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SEGi University, Malaysia, marking a major step toward stronger academic and research collaboration between India and Malaysia.
The partnership aims to expand education quality, skill development, and global exposure for students and faculty from both institutions. Under the agreement, the two universities will work together on student and faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, and the development of specialized academic courses. Key areas of collaboration include science, humanities, and legal studies.
A special focus will be placed on mentoring postgraduate and doctoral scholars, helping young researchers gain international guidance and access to global research networks. The collaboration will also include joint conferences, seminars, and workshops to encourage knowledge sharing and cross-border academic dialogue.
SEGi University will support DDUGU by acting as an academic and research facilitation hub in Malaysia. This will help DDUGU students and researchers connect with institutions, experts, and innovation ecosystems across Southeast Asia.
The MoU was signed by DDUGU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon during the QS Summit in Goa, highlighting the university’s commitment to international engagement. The agreement clearly outlines provisions related to intellectual property rights, joint publications, confidentiality, and governance to ensure smooth and transparent collaboration.
