Indiana State University Partners with Korean Center for Learning

    Indiana State University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Chicago Korean Education Center to strengthen cultural and educational collaboration. The partnership aims to provide students with global learning opportunities while enriching the cultural landscape of the Terre Haute community and beyond.

    Under the agreement, the university will host an annual Korean Culture Festival, open to students and the wider Indiana community. The MOU also supports academic pathways for students who wish to study in South Korea, helping them gain international exposure and develop cross-cultural skills.

    Carrie Ball, interim dean of the Bayh College of Education, emphasized that the partnership aligns with the college’s mission to prepare globally minded educators. Seonjin Song, Director of the Korean Education Center, noted that the MOU strengthens ties between Korea and the university, fostering long-term collaboration in education and culture.

    University Provost Brad Balch highlighted that the agreement opens doors for students to engage in international learning experiences, enhancing their academic and professional growth. President Mike Godard added that the partnership is significant for both the university and the Wabash Valley, creating opportunities for students to gain global perspectives and valuable skills in an increasingly interconnected world.

    The collaboration reflects Indiana State University’s commitment to combining cultural exchange with education, preparing students for global careers and international opportunities in teaching, research, and professional development.
