Italy's Marche Polytechnic University Launches Kazakhstan Campus

    • Italy’s Marche Polytechnic University has opened a branch at Zhetisu University in Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan, offering double-degree programs in agriculture and technology.
    • The new campus will focus on agronomy, food engineering, tourism, economics, and digital technologies, aligned with the Zhetisu Region’s agricultural profile.
    • Students will benefit from international faculty, global research opportunities, and dual diplomas, strengthening Kazakhstan–Italy educational ties.

    Italy's Marche Polytechnic University opened a branch at Zhetisu University named after Ilyas Zhansugurov, in Taldykorgan, the Kazakh Ministry of Science and Higher Education said. Double-degree programs in agronomy and agricultural science and technology were launched jointly to meet a rising need for qualified professionals in the field.

    Considering the agricultural profile of the Zhetisu Region, the branch will concentrate on educational programs in agriculture, food engineering, tourism, economics, and information and digital technologies. During the first stage, the regional administration allocated 14 grants for students.

    "Collaboration with the Zhetisu University is a significant element of Italy's foreign strategy. Joint projects in education and research, as well as the exchange of experience, will enhance the capabilities of both universities. The opening of this branch is not just a new chance, but also a tangible step towards the consolidation of friendship and cooperation between Kazakhstan and Italy", noted Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Antonello De Riu.

    With the increasing demand for trained agronomists and experts with digital technology competences, the branch opening represents a concrete step toward addressing this shortage of skills.

    Within the framework of the academic mobility program, lecturers and scholars of Marche Polytechnic University will give lectures at the branch. Students will also be able to take part in collaborative research activities and internships in foreign countries. Graduates will be awarded diplomas by two universities.
