Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Alexandria University Abu Dhabi, welcomed today Dr Ayman Ashour, Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, at the Ministry headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
The gathering discussed the executive progress in connection with the opening of the Alexandria University campus in Abu Dhabi, to coincide with the inauguration of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Evolving discussions also addressed opportunities for collaboration in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and academic exchange, with emphasis on maximizing the results of research to develop human capital and enhance the knowledge economy in the two nations.

Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed stressed that the long-standing fraternal bonds between the UAE and Egypt provide a firm basis for promoting academic and scientific cooperation. He congratulated the quick progress and expanding regional and international reputation of Egypt's higher education sector, and hailed the leadership role of Alexandria University. The Abu Dhabi campus, he said, will provide higher academic programmes responding to the needs of the labour market and to national development priorities.
Dr. Ayman Ashour emphasized Egypt's historic and strategic ties with the UAE. He confirmed Egypt's willingness to increase cooperation with Emirati universities in many areas of education and research, enhancing national talent development and graduating future generations who are capable of innovation and active contribution to sustainable development.
