Mindanao State University -Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), marking a fresh step in international academic cooperation between the Philippines and Thailand.

The agreement was signed in online ceremony. With this partnership, KMITL becomes the fourth Thai university to formally collaborate with MSU-IIT. The MOU aims to promote equal and reciprocal cooperation while building long-term, sustainable academic ties.

Under the agreement, both institutions will work together on student exchange programs for study and research, faculty and staff exchanges, and joint research initiatives. The partnership also includes continuing education programs, academic seminars, short-term courses, and the sharing of research materials, publications, and digital learning resources. These efforts are designed to strengthen practical skills, global exposure, and career readiness among students.

A key early outcome of the collaboration will begin in June, when 30 students from MSU-IIT’s BA English Language Studies program will take part in on-the-job training at KMITL. The training is expected to provide hands-on international experience and improve employability in education, communication, and related fields.

Both universities have appointed dedicated coordinators to ensure smooth implementation and regular coordination. The MOU will remain valid for five years, with the option to extend by mutual agreement, laying the foundation for deeper academic and workforce-focused collaboration.
