OceanX Education is pleased to announce the soon-to-be appointment of Professor Tit Meng Lim as its new APAC Regional Executive Director. Singapore-based Prof. Lim will head up the organization's expansion and outreach activities within Asia, spearheading strategic direction, regional collaborations, and organizational growth at a critical juncture for ocean literacy and environmental action.
A household name in science public engagement and education, Prof. Lim has over 30 years of experience as a leader in the academic, government-linked, and international science networks. Most recently, he was Chief Executive of the Science Centre Singapore, in which he managed national initiatives in advancing STEM innovation and directing the science learning sector towards dynamic, community-centred experiences.
Prof. Lim also held leadership roles at the National University of Singapore for over two decades, including Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science, where he was instrumental in shaping interdisciplinary science curricula and advancing life sciences education. His influence extends beyond Singapore through board leadership positions with organizations such as the Asia Pacific Network of Science & Technology Centres and the Association of Science-Technology Centres (ASTC).

As APAC Regional Executive Director, Prof. Lim will lead the charge to expand OceanX Education's presence in the region, from launching new programs that merge science, education, experiential storytelling, and public programming, to developing institutional partnerships and sustained funding models. He will also manage operations, organizational planning, and the growth of OceanX Education's regional staff.
