Seoul National University (SNU) has sent a team of 24 students and faculty members to Peru as part of its Global Social Responsibility program. The initiative, called the SWP+SR (World Program plus Social Responsibility), aims to combine overseas experiential learning with meaningful social contribution.
The 'Narangha' team, a joint group of SNU students and peers from Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, will work in underprivileged urban communities near Lima until January 18, conducting health education programs for elementary students and promoting both physical and mental well-being. From January 18 to 28, the team will participate in academic courses and experiential learning activities across Lima and Cusco, exploring sustainable urban development and social inequality in the region.
The program emphasizes practical skills, cultural awareness, and responsible citizenship. Students will also run boundary-respect workshops and cultural exchange sessions to share Korean and Peruvian heritage, fostering mutual understanding between the two countries.

Since its establishment in 2013, SNU’s Global Social Responsibility Center has served as the hub for the university’s social contribution initiatives. The center integrates research, education, and community engagement to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to address real-world challenges while contributing positively to society.
Through programs like SWP+SR, SNU ensures students not only gain academic knowledge but also develop leadership, problem-solving, and global competencies that prepare them for future careers while making a tangible impact on local communities.
