The Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines, together with the Swiss Cultural Fund and in partnership with the Department of Education, successfully hosted the third edition of the 'Day of the Future' on November 13, 2025. The annual initiative, inspired by Switzerland’s Nationaler Zukunftstag, aims to provide young learners with hands-on exposure to diverse career opportunities while fostering curiosity about the professional world.
Targeting students aged 11 to 16, the program allows participants to step into real-world work environments, experiencing adult professional roles through workplace tours, interactive demonstrations, and mentorship sessions. The initiative is designed to help learners explore new interests and broaden their career horizons.
This year, the program featured Swiss companies operating in the Philippines, including Endress+Hauser, Roche Philippines, Holcim Philippines, Novartis Philippines, SGS, Partners Group, and Sateco. Each organisation designed a full-day program tailored to showcase its industry, spanning sectors such as science, engineering, pharmaceuticals, finance, and advanced manufacturing.
Roche Philippines, a global leader in pharmaceuticals and diagnostics, highlighted its commitment to personalized health care, focusing on oncology, ophthalmology, and women’s health. Students were guided through Roche’s departments by Ela Riva S. Reaviles, health systems partner at Roche, ensuring a structured and educational experience.
Lecturers and speakers including Maria Nezette Briones, Amormio Mon C. Santiago, Carlo Cabanlig, Pauleen Ocampo, Via Banares, Nathan Revilla, Suzzane Daguno, Katrina Balaga, Cris Adaling, Alvin Cabahug, and Dr. Wasiq Rahman shared insights on Roche’s innovations, treatments, and initiatives to improve health care access for Filipinos.
