- New bursary supports gig workers pursuing higher education
- Open to full-time students in polytechnics and universities
- Part of YY Group’s push to build future-ready, skilled talent
YY Group Holding Limited (NASDAQ: YYGH), a global leader in on-demand workforce solutions, has launched the YY Circle Bursary Award to help gig workers in Singapore pursue higher education.
The bursary, introduced by YY Group and its local arm YY Circle SG, aims to reduce financial stress for young workers balancing jobs and studies. This initiative is part of the company’s broader commitment to education, talent development, and social responsibility in Singapore.
Mike Fu, CEO and Executive Director of YY Group, said, “At YY Group, we see education as a key to long-term success”. He added, “This bursary helps our gig workers unlock opportunities and build skills that will shape Singapore’s future”.
The YY Circle Bursary Award is open to full-time Singaporean students studying at polytechnics, in polytechnic foundation programs, and at universities. Award amounts vary based on the student’s Per Capita Income (PCI) and level of study, ensuring support reaches those with the greatest financial need. “We’re not just filling jobs,” added Mike Fu. “We’re investing in people.”

By easing education costs, YY Group hopes to empower young gig workers to grow their careers, build resilience, and become leaders in their communities.
This move aligns with the rising importance of education in the gig economy, where flexible workers often face challenges accessing traditional support systems. YY Group’s program offers a strong example of how private companies can step up to bridge the gap.
