BWA Redefines Learning with Finland's AI Creator Curriculum

    • Bloom World Academy partners with Code School Finland to introduce the AI Creator course for Grades 9 and 10, making students future-ready in coding, AI, and digital literacy.
    • Students develop practical AI applications, explore ethics, and gain critical thinking skills through project-based learning and real-world problem solving.
    • BWA becomes a pioneer in AI education in the UAE, aligning with global standards and fostering creativity, technical fluency, and socially conscious innovation.

Bloom World Academy (BWA) has partnered with leading Finnish education provider, Code School Finland (CSF), to launch the AI Creator curriculum, marking a pioneering step in AI education. The programme, designed in Finland, equips students with practical skills in coding, artificial intelligence, and digital literacy through hands-on, project-based learning.

BWA has become the first school in the world to implement the latest version of the AI Creator course as a compulsory module for Grades 9 and 10. The AI Creator series, already adopted in over 15 countries, aims to make AI learning engaging, accessible, and practical. Students at BWA explore core concepts such as AI classifiers, social media profiling, and AI-powered solutions. The curriculum also encourages students to consider the societal impact of algorithms and reflect on ethical issues surrounding intelligent systems.

John Bell, Founding Principal of Bloom World Academy, commented on the partnership: “In a world where AI is reshaping every aspect of society, students need to understand, challenge, and shape technology. Our partnership with Code School Finland empowers students to do this, positioning BWA at the forefront of educational innovation while nurturing socially conscious, solutions-driven thinkers”.

As part of the AI Creator course, students developed practical AI applications, including healthcare diagnostic tools, emotion detection systems, and fitness recommendation engines. They explored how classifiers work, assessed data quality and bias, and reflected on AI’s societal impact. These activities provided students with hands-on experience in AI and machine learning while strengthening critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical reasoning skills. Upon completing the course, students received official certificates from Code School Finland.

Kaisu Pallaskallio, CEO of Code School Finland, praised BWA students, stating, “They showed impressive understanding of machine learning by creating health and medical applications while reflecting on AI ethics. Their creativity and motivation, supported by strong teaching, make Bloom World Academy an ideal partner for impactful AI education”.

The course was delivered by BWA teachers trained through CSF-led live sessions, self-paced modules, and a detailed teacher manual. Students also engaged in real-time peer collaboration, enhancing their learning experience.

The rollout builds on BWA’s in-house AI Fundamentals programme for Grades 9 and 10, launched at the start of the 2024–25 academic year. The programme, inspired by the Pearson BTEC framework, introduced students to AI basics, machine learning, Python programming, and data ethics. In August 2024, BWA became the first school in the UAE to formally implement the Pearson AI BTEC qualification as a compulsory course for students aged 14 and above. This foundation prepared students for the deeper AI exploration offered through the Code School Finland curriculum.

Huma Deshmukh, Lead Practitioner for Digital, Computer Science, and AI at BWA, said, “Introducing the Code School Finland curriculum felt like a natural next step. It expands on the AI-focused BTEC course, bringing more structure, ethical reflection, and creativity into the classroom”.

The AI Creator curriculum aligns with international education frameworks, including the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), UNESCO AI Competency Framework, and OECD AI Literacy Framework. By integrating these standards, BWA ensures that students receive a globally relevant education in AI.

Through this programme, Bloom World Academy aims to redefine future-ready learning, equipping students with technical fluency, an ethical mindset, and creative skills required to thrive in an AI-powered world. By combining hands-on learning, ethical reflection, and global standards, BWA is setting a benchmark for AI education in schools and preparing students to be leaders in technology and innovation.
