The 2025 Annual Career Fair, whose theme this year was 'Higher Education and Employability - The Linkage in an AI-Driven Era', reaffirmed its commitment to developing a workforce ready for employment and foster collaboration with Cambodia's top corporations.

Secretary of State Om Romny visited the fair at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, with Khun Nayheak, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training. They were joined by Mark Chua, Chairman and CEO of East Asia Education Group, and other high-ranking officials from both the private and public sectors.

The event drew over 300 participants comprising students, recent graduates, employers, and educators, and nearly 40 firms across various sectors. Organised by East Asia Management University (EAMU), it was a strategic arena for bringing young talent to companies' attention through job and internship opportunities, as well as stimulating entrepreneurship and productivity in the digital age.

Romny and Nayheak gave keynote speeches at the opening ceremony, resoundingly endorsing EAMU's initiative. They commended the fair for balancing Cambodia's labor market by linking skilled job hunters with businesses. They also recognized its contribution towards national development and enhancing collaboration among education and employment sectors.

Aside from networking, the fair presented employer stands with on-site recruitment, industry-led interactive sessions, and educational entertainment to enhance workplace preparation and contemporary knowledge of the job market. Chua presented the university's vision of equipping the students with the future workforce.

"Our primary intention in organizing this career fair is to build a dynamic platform where education and career opportunity come together. We want to expose students to actual career tracks, enhance their employability, and connect them with industry partners who can provide internships, mentorship, or employment", he explained.

"By introducing industry practitioners into our classrooms, we expose students to real-time market demand, employer requirements, and start to form their professional contacts even before they graduate", he further added.

The vision is to equip graduates with the competencies and abilities to address the demand in the workforce and make meaningful contributions to national human capital and economic growth.

Chua also noted the singular incorporation of practice and theory, mostly through the six-month internship scheme of EAMU with affiliated organizations, providing students with important hands-on experience and an easier entry into the working world.
