Minister of Education and Technical Education, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif, met with members of the Japanese Parliament’s Parliamentary Friendship Group with Africa to explore new avenues for educational cooperation between Egypt and Japan.
During the meeting, Minister Abdel Latif reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening educational partnerships across general education, technical training, and special education for students with disabilities. He highlighted the importance of creating flexible and inclusive educational models that support experience sharing and capacity building with Japan.
The Minister also shared insights into the successful implementation of Japanese Tokkatsu activities in Egyptian-Japanese schools, which he said have played a vital role in developing students' personalities and life skills. Additionally, he presented the Applied Technology Schools (ATS) as a leading example of how education can align with labor market demands by equipping students with job ready skills.
The Japanese delegation, which included Mr. Nishimura Yasutoshi, Mr. Hitoshi Kikawada, Mr. Daisuke Kagehara, and Mr. Kisuki Yamamoto, expressed appreciation for the progress of Egyptian-Japanese educational projects. They described the collaboration as a symbol of deep and enduring ties between the two nations.

They also emphasized Japan's interest in supporting private sector partnerships in education to help raise public awareness and ensure the sustainability of joint initiatives.
The meeting also included representatives from the Egyptian Embassy in Tokyo, including Ambassador Mohamed Abu Bakr, and key advisors to the Education Minister, reflecting the high level commitment on both sides to advancing educational cooperation.
