Huawei Launches AI Education Center (AIEC) Platform

    • At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei showcased its 'AIEC Solution' to bring AI education to primary and secondary schools.
    • The initiative combines hardware, model services, application platforms, and lab management systems to offer hands-on AI learning and curriculum resources.
    • Already implemented in over 500 schools in Zhejiang, China, the program aims to reach 1 million students, fostering early AI literacy and skills for the future.

At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in education with its summit, 'Education + AI, Embracing an Intelligent Future'. The event showcased Huawei’s latest initiative, the AIEC Solution for basic education, designed to bring general AI education into primary and secondary schools. By combining cutting-edge technology with practical classroom applications, the company aims to make AI education accessible to every student and prepare young learners for a future shaped by intelligent systems.

Li Junfeng, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of the Global Public Sector Business Unit, emphasized that the heart of AI education is achieving 'the lowest threshold and the widest coverage'. He described Huawei as both a 'technology enabler' and an 'ecosystem builder', working with industry partners and schools to create scenario-based solutions that integrate AI into teaching and learning. The AIEC Solution, in particular, focuses on general AI education for basic education, helping students engage with AI concepts early and develop skills that will be essential in a technology-driven world.

The AIEC Solution is built on a comprehensive framework that includes hardware computing infrastructure, model services, application platforms, and an AI teaching and laboratory management system. Together, these elements provide a systematic approach to AI education, offering experimental applications and curriculum resources for students at all levels. By integrating hands-on projects and interactive learning tools, the program equips students with critical competencies, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and a foundation for future innovation in technology and industry.

In Zhejiang Province, China, the solution has already been implemented in collaboration with partners like CourseGrading. More than 500 primary and secondary schools now have access to a general AI education platform featuring AI computing power, open-source large models, over ten hands-on AI projects, and more than fifty experimental tools and applications. Huawei projects that the platform will eventually reach one million students, demonstrating the scalable potential of AI in the classroom.

During the summit, Huawei also launched a global demonstration project with Pui Kiu Middle School, showcasing practical applications of AI in secondary education. This initiative illustrates how technology can enhance teaching and learning while providing models that can be replicated in schools worldwide. By linking AI research and practical application, the project serves as a blueprint for schools seeking to integrate digital tools in meaningful, student-centered ways.

Huawei’s AIEC Solution represents a major step forward in the convergence of education and AI. By creating accessible, hands-on learning opportunities, Huawei aims to nurture talent from a young age and promote equitable access to technological education. Moving forward, the company plans to continue building an open ecosystem with global partners, fostering innovation in classrooms worldwide, and helping students unlock their potential in a rapidly evolving digital world.
