TCL CSOT delivered a high-profile presence at ChinaJoy 2026 in Shanghai, using its 'AI on Screen' exhibition to signal a dual push into professional esports displays and next-generation AI computing infrastructure. The company was joined by a wide ecosystem of partners including Lenovo, AGON, EVNIA, ASUS, LG, MSI, Acer, BenQ, TCL, Sony and Thunderbird. Appearances by actor and singer Jiro Wang and professional CrossFire players added visibility, while interactive activities drew visitors into demonstrations of advanced display technology.
Two major announcements defined the booth. The first was the official release of the TÜV Rheinland Native Gaming Performance Display Standard. Jay Yang, Senior Vice President of TÜV Rheinland Global Electrical, unveiled the standard at the TCL CSOT stand. To accelerate industry adoption, TÜV Rheinland partnered with the China National Institute of Standardization, Lenovo Group, TCL CSOT, HKC, BOE, ANTGAMER, TPV, Realtek, MediaTek, Foxconn, Wistron and other companies to launch the Esports Display Experience Ecosystem Initiative. The initiative aims to embed the new standard and human-factor research across the full display value chain, from semiconductor design and panel manufacturing to product development, retail and consumer education.
Jun Zhao, Senior Vice President of TCL Technology and CEO of TCL CSOT, framed the standard as a shift toward human-centred evaluation. “True global leadership is not only about achieving technical breakthroughs it’s about defining standards that are genuinely human-centric,” he said. “As the gaming industry continues to grow, players’ expectations for display experiences are escalating. The competition has evolved from a narrow focus on hardware specs like refresh rate and response time toward a more holistic battle that prioritizes real-world user experience, visual health, and immersion.”
The second highlight was the joint unveiling with LG of the world’s first Full HD 1080p native 1000Hz gaming monitor, the LG UltraGear model 25G590B. The 24.5-inch display is designed to meet the new TÜV Rheinland standard and marks TCL CSOT’s expansion from consumer gaming panels into professional esports hardware. Unlike monitors that achieve high refresh rates through frame interpolation or overclocking, the 25G590B delivers a true hardware-driven 1000Hz refresh rate. It supports MBR Pro technology for clearer motion and reduced blur, features a compact adjustable base, and pairs with AI-enhanced audio to help players react faster in competitive first-person shooter titles.
TCL CSOT has held the global lead in both market share and shipment volume for gaming monitor panels from 2022 through 2025. Roughly one in every three gaming monitors worldwide uses a TCL CSOT panel. The company is also the official display partner of the 2026 CrossFire Professional League, placing its technology at the highest levels of competition.
Its technology portfolio covers multiple panel types tailored to different gaming needs. HVA technology prioritises ultra-fast response times and high contrast for fast-paced titles. HFS technology combines smooth motion with IPS-level colour accuracy. Printed OLED delivers vibrant colours, infinite contrast and built-in eye-care features. Together these options allow the company to address both extreme competitive performance and premium visual comfort.

Beyond displays, TCL CSOT used ChinaJoy to outline a new direction in advanced semiconductor packaging. Jun Zhao introduced the company’s work on glass-based packaging for high-performance chips. As AI accelerators and high-performance computing place greater demands on packaging, glass substrates are emerging as a potential solution to current bottlenecks. TCL CSOT’s existing strengths in large-size glass processing, precision film deposition, lithography, etching, inspection and automated handling align closely with the requirements of glass substrate packaging. The company has begun preliminary research and feasibility studies and is evaluating collaborative development with customers.
The dual focus premium gaming screens in front of players and advanced packaging technologies that support AI computing behind the scenes illustrates TCL CSOT’s strategy of extending its semiconductor display expertise across a wider technology value chain. The company positions itself as a bridge between immersive entertainment experiences and the infrastructure that will power future AI systems.
ChinaJoy 2026 provided a high-visibility platform for these messages. The combination of a new industry standard, a record-setting native 1000Hz monitor, continued market leadership, and an early move into glass substrate packaging signalled both short-term product ambition and longer-term technological positioning. TCL CSOT indicated it will continue working with global partners to strengthen the gaming display ecosystem while advancing underlying technologies that support AI and high-performance computing.
