UAE EdTech Firm, AfricAI Partner to Launch AI Learning in Nigeria

    In a landmark move to enhance digital education in Africa, UAE-based Alef Education has signed a memorandum of understanding with Nigeria-based AfricAI to improve foundational learning across the continent, with Nigeria serving as the first focus market. The collaboration aims to bring scalable, technology-enabled education solutions to schools and communities, ensuring students gain access to high-quality learning opportunities in line with Nigeria’s national education priorities.

    Under the agreement, the two companies will launch NextGen Learning Nigeria, a strategic initiative designed to strengthen foundational education across core subjects, including English, mathematics, science, public safety awareness, climate literacy, and civic education. Alef Education will act as the technology and implementation partner, providing its AI-driven learning platform, customized educational content, deployment planning, teacher training programs, and real-time learning analytics. The initiative will particularly target underserved communities, bridging gaps in access to quality education and equipping students with the skills necessary for a competitive, AI-driven global economy.

    Geoffrey Alphonso, CEO of Alef Education, highlighted that the partnership creates a replicable model for the continent. “By combining our advanced technology with AfricAI’s regional expertise, we are strengthening foundational learning in Nigeria and laying the groundwork for expansion across other African markets”, he said. HRH Prince Malik Ado-Ibrahim, executive chairman of AfricAI, added that the initiative is designed to unlock the potential of Nigeria’s youth, which he described as the country’s greatest resource.

    Building on Alef Education’s existing deployments in Morocco, the collaboration aligns with the recently signed UAE-Nigeria Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, reflecting growing cooperation between the two nations in AI, education, and human capital development. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and regional expertise, NextGen Learning Nigeria aims to transform the educational landscape, preparing students not only for academic success but also for the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving, innovation-driven world.
