Vietnam Partners with Qualcomm to Advance AI Education and Skills

    • Education Ministry and Qualcomm sign an AI-focused MoU, marking a long-term partnership to advance technology-driven education in Vietnam.
    • The collaboration targets skills development, job readiness, and digital education, preparing students and educators for AI and emerging technology roles.
    • New AI labs, research centers, and hands-on training programs planned, giving students practical exposure and access to advanced tools and learning platforms.

Vietnam has taken a major step to strengthen artificial intelligence (AI) skills and digital education with a new partnership between the Ministry of Education and Training and US technology company Qualcomm. The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Hà Nội, marking a new phase of long-term cooperation.

The agreement aims to support AI training, digital transformation, and innovation-led research across Vietnam’s education system. It focuses strongly on building future-ready skills and improving job readiness for students and young professionals.

Lê Quân, Deputy Minister of Education and Training said, the MoU creates a clear framework for coordinated action. He explained that the partnership will focus on three core areas. The first is human resource development, especially in AI, digital technologies, and other emerging fields. Qualcomm will support universities and institutions in designing training programs aligned with Vietnam’s digital transformation goals.

The second area is research and innovation. The two sides plan to jointly develop research centers and projects while promoting technology transfer. This will help universities strengthen innovation capacity and respond better to economic and industry needs.

The third focus is digital transformation within the education system. Qualcomm will support the ministry’s efforts to modernize education management and learning models in line with national digital strategies.

Becky Fraser, Qualcomm Vice President said the partnership reflects shared goals of empowering students, educators, and entrepreneurs through technology and research. She confirmed Qualcomm’s long-term commitment to Vietnam through training, innovation support, and capacity building.

The partnership is expected to strengthen skills, create high-quality jobs, and support Vietnam’s growing digital economy.
