POCUS Training Goes Global With Medvarsity, Inteleos Collaboration

  • Synopsis
POCUS Certification Academy and Medvarsity have partnered to expand global AI-focused medical training. The initiative aims to upskill healthcare professionals in point-of-care ultrasound and AI-enabled diagnostics, strengthening clinical decision-making and digital health adoption worldwide.

The Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Certification Academy, a division of Inteleos, has entered into a major global partnership with Medvarsity to significantly expand access to foundational point-of-care ultrasound education across the world. The collaboration is designed to strengthen early-stage clinical training by offering structured, standardized learning pathways that help healthcare professionals build essential diagnostic skills using ultrasound technology at the bedside.

At the center of this initiative is the POCUS Fundamentals Certificate, a globally recognized entry-level program that validates core knowledge in ultrasound education, including ultrasound physics, basic instrumentation, and essential clinical applications used in patient assessment. The certificate is structured into eight comprehensive learning modules, followed by a summative evaluation to ensure competency and understanding. It also serves as a prerequisite for more advanced POCUS certification programs, enabling clinicians to progress toward specialized proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound across multiple medical disciplines.

Through this partnership, Medvarsity will integrate the POCUS Fundamentals Certificate into its extensive digital learning ecosystem, making it available to its global learner base spanning 192 countries. With an active reach of approximately 3.4 million healthcare professionals each month, Medvarsity plays a significant role in delivering scalable healthcare education, combining online learning platforms with hands-on hospital-based clinical training. This blended approach ensures that learners not only gain theoretical knowledge but also develop practical skills essential for real-world clinical environments.

Leaders from both organizations emphasized the importance of establishing consistent global standards in medical training. Jasmine Rockett, Director of the POCUS Certification Academy at Inteleos, highlighted that the organization’s mission is centered on maintaining and elevating global benchmarks for clinician competence. She explained that this collaboration ensures healthcare professionals beginning their journey in POCUS training are grounded in internationally recognized standards rather than isolated or unverified educational content. According to Rockett, this alignment is essential for improving diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and overall clinical effectiveness in point-of-care settings.

From Medvarsity’s perspective, the partnership represents a major advancement in expanding access to modern medical education. Gerald Jaideep, CEO of Medvarsity, described point-of-care ultrasound as a transformative tool in contemporary medicine, often referred to as a 'visual stethoscope' that enhances bedside diagnostic capabilities.

He noted that ultrasound technology has evolved from a specialized clinical skill into a fundamental component of everyday healthcare practice. By integrating the globally validated POCUS education framework developed by Inteleos, Medvarsity aims to deliver high-quality training to clinicians across diverse healthcare systems, particularly in regions where access to advanced medical education may be limited.

Jaideep further emphasized that the collaboration aligns with Medvarsity’s broader mission to improve clinical outcomes through scalable, technology-driven medical education programs. By equipping frontline healthcare professionals with structured training and internationally recognized certification, the initiative aims to strengthen confidence, improve decision-making, and ultimately support faster and more accurate patient care in emergency and routine settings alike.

The rollout of the program will begin with the introduction of the POCUS Fundamentals Certificate across Medvarsity’s digital learning platform. Over time, both organizations plan to expand the collaboration to include more advanced ultrasound certification pathways, allowing clinicians to deepen their expertise and move toward specialized areas of point-of-care imaging. This phased approach ensures that learners build a strong foundation before advancing to more complex diagnostic applications.

As part of the broader vision, the partnership reflects a growing global movement toward standardized, accessible, and technology-enhanced healthcare training, ensuring that clinicians everywhere can benefit from consistent education regardless of geography. By combining Inteleos’ expertise in certification standards with Medvarsity’s global educational reach, the initiative is expected to play a key role in shaping the future of clinical ultrasound training, improving patient care, and strengthening healthcare systems worldwide.
