Korea National University of Transportation (KNUT) has successfully wrapped up a pilot teaching program at the University of Transport Technology (UTT) in Vietnam. The initiative introduces specialized railway engineering courses to help meet the growing demand for skilled workers in the country’s largest infrastructure project-the North-South high-speed railway.
As part of the 'Glocal University 30' project, this partnership focuses on enhancing education cooperation and exporting Korea’s advanced railway curricula. During the pilot, students took courses in Applied Telecommunications Engineering in Railways, Information Technology, and Logistics. KNUT also provided real-time translation and Vietnamese subtitles for the lectures.

The collaboration extends beyond short courses. Both universities are working on a dual-degree '2+2' program to bring Vietnamese students to study at KNUT’s campus. This project aligns with the Vietnamese Government's goal to improve its technical education system for the railway sector.
KNUT President Yoon Seung Jo sees this as a major step towards showcasing their globally competitive railway education system, hoping it will contribute to the success of Vietnam’s high-speed railway project. Additionally, KNUT is expanding its partnerships with institutions in Vietnam to offer Korean-language training to prospective students.
