- The initiative provides certified SOLIDWORKS training, CSWA exam prep and industry exposure, creating a seamless pathway from classroom learning to real-world engineering roles.
- The partnership aims to build a future-ready talent pipeline, aligning students with global standards as the SkillForce programme expands to 53 countries with 2,500+ applicants worldwide.
Engineering and design students in Malaysia will now have access to the country's first-ever SOLIDWORKS SkillForce programme thanks to a new agreement between Taylor's University, Dassault Systemes, and IME Technology. The program will bridge education and industry through certified training and exposure to work experience.
SOLIDWORKS SkillForce is a Dassault Systemes global programme to bridge the gap between education and industry. It provides students with certified SOLIDWORKS skills, while opening access to professional tools to support internships and early career roles.
The MoU will bring the three entities together to drive efforts towards enhancing Malaysia's engineering talent with a focus on practical, industry-aligned competencies. Taylor's University will be providing training in SOLIDWORKS and preparation for the CSWA exam. It will also handle the enrolment into the SkillForce programme, thereby offering a seamless route from classroom learning to application on the job site.
IME Technology will contribute to that by building an induction course covering core SOLIDWORKS knowledge and workplace-readiness competencies that help students confidently enter professional environments. Together, these efforts will establish a stronger and more skilled talent pipeline that meets the growing needs in Malaysia's industry.
Professor Dr Sim Yee Wei, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Innovation & Technology at Taylor’s University added that this agreement underscores the university’s commitment to graduating future-ready students. “Our students will get access to industry-standard tools, global certification and real-world work exposure - all this strengthens their employability”, she said.
Teoh Jia Yuan, Executive Vice President of IME Technology, said, “The partnership will focus on enhancing practical engineering skills in Malaysia. This MoU supports our shared goal of building a strong talent pipeline for the nation’s growing innovation economy”.
