The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has partnered with Hasanuddin University to support the development of young entrepreneurs through Indonesia’s higher education pillars, known as 'Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi'. These pillars education, research, and community service form the foundation of universities’ missions in the country.
The collaboration was formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Thursday by Hasanuddin University Rector Prof. Jamaluddin Jompa and Siti Azizah, Deputy for Entrepreneurship at the Ministry of MSMEs.
Speaking at the Entrepreneur Hub event, jointly organized by the Ministry, Hasanuddin University, and the South Sulawesi provincial government, Azizah highlighted the importance of universities in nurturing future entrepreneurship programs. She said the partnership aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita initiative, particularly in improving employment quality and boosting the creative industry.
“Through productive collaboration with Hasanuddin University, we hope to create a supportive and sustainable environment for entrepreneurship”, she said.
Rector Jompa added that Indonesia needs more young entrepreneurs to compete globally. He emphasized that the MoU and Entrepreneur Hub activities aim to guide Hasanuddin University students to develop innovative business ideas and become key players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The Entrepreneur Hub functions as a national platform to strengthen Indonesia’s entrepreneurship landscape. It provides resources for idea generation, enterprise management, and scaling businesses, helping young entrepreneurs gain practical guidance and support to succeed.
This partnership marks a significant step in connecting higher education and government initiatives to build a stronger, inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Indonesia.
