GCash Launches GStocks PH Hubs to Boost Stock Market Education

  • Finance super app GCash has launched physical education hubs under its GStocks PH platform to help more Filipinos understand and participate in the stock market. Called the 'Part-Owner Era' Hubs, the initiative aims to demystify investing and make capital market education practical and approachable for everyday users.

The hubs are currently set up at two locations: Bonifacio High Street - B2 in Taguig and the 2nd Floor Concourse of One Ayala in Makati. From September 28 to October 12, visitors can drop by for free on-site assistance, learn the basics of stock market investing, and get help setting up their GStocks PH accounts.

Inside the hubs, visitors will find educational materials covering core topics such as how the stock market works, managing investment risk, and building a diversified portfolio. The materials include investor education resources developed with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). Staff are available to guide first-time investors through the registration process and answer practical questions.

GStocks PH, the stock trading platform offered by AB Capital Securities, Inc. and accessible inside the GCash app, already serves more than two million Filipinos. This figure represents more than half of all online retail stock market accounts registered with the PSE. The number of digital PSE accounts grew by 30.5 percent year-on-year in 2025, highlighting both rising interest and the growing need for accessible financial education.

Winsley Bangit, group head of New Businesses at Mynt, the parent company of GCash, said the hubs form part of a broader effort to ensure that greater access to the market is matched by better understanding.

“We want to dispel misconceptions that accessing the stock market is only for the privileged few or should be costly or complicated,” Bangit said. “More than access alone, we believe Filipinos should be equipped with the tools and resources needed to make more informed and healthier financial decisions.”

Beyond the physical hubs, GCash has expanded its digital education resources. Users can access research reports from AB Capital Securities, bite-sized learning materials through the “InvesTips” section on the GCash homepage, and curated stock ideas designed for beginners. These include entry-level stocks priced under P1,000, dividend-paying companies, and major PSE index constituents.

Getting started is straightforward for fully verified GCash users. They simply open the GCash app, tap the GStocks PH icon, select AB Capital Securities, Inc., and complete the account registration. Once approved, investors can trade shares of more than 280 listed companies. Account top-ups and withdrawals are free and instantaneous, and investors can begin with as little as P500.

The Part-Owner Era initiative reflects GCash’s view that widening participation in the capital markets should go hand in hand with responsible investing. By combining physical learning spaces with digital tools and low entry barriers, the company aims to help more Filipinos build long-term financial confidence through the stock market.

The hubs are open to the public during the two-week period, offering a low-pressure environment for people who may have been curious about stocks but unsure where to begin. Visitors can explore educational displays at their own pace, ask questions, and leave with a clearer understanding of how to take the next step if they choose to open an account.

As retail participation in the Philippine stock market continues to grow, initiatives that pair access with education are becoming increasingly important. GCash’s Part-Owner Era Hubs represent one of the more visible efforts to meet that need by bringing learning directly to high-footfall locations in Metro Manila.

For those unable to visit the hubs in person, the same educational resources remain available inside the GCash app. Together, the physical and digital offerings form a multi-channel approach designed to lower the barriers that have traditionally kept many Filipinos away from the stock market.

The company encourages interested individuals to visit the hubs while they are open or explore the learning materials available on the app.

With over two million users already on the platform and continued growth in digital accounts, GCash is positioning GStocks PH not only as a trading tool but as a gateway for broader financial empowerment through informed investing.
