- GE HealthCare and IKETMI conduct advanced training in medical imaging
- Supports cancer care and healthcare transformation in Indonesia
- Focus on building local talent and diagnostic technology skills
Indonesia is stepping up efforts to improve healthcare quality by investing in the skills of its biomedical workforce.
GE HealthCare, in partnership with the Indonesian Electronics Association (IKETMI), held an exclusive medical imaging workshop at the Ministry of Health Hospital in Surabaya. This program continues the PET and SPECT CT training that began in December 2024, aimed at strengthening the competence of medical professionals handling advanced diagnostic tools, especially for cancer care.
Dr. Martha Muliana Lumogom Siahaan, Acting President Director of the Surabaya Ministry of Health Hospital, welcomed the initiative. She said the hospital is committed to becoming a center of excellence that combines clinical services, education, and innovation. “This collaboration helps transform healthcare by enhancing the skills of our medical and technical staff, making services more patient-centered”, she said.
Agus Komarudin, Chairman of IKETMI, highlighted the importance of equipping biomedical personnel with the ability to operate and maintain imaging equipment independently. He noted that stronger training helps ensure accurate diagnoses and consistent service across Indonesia.

The initiative also supports Indonesia’s long-term goal of building a modern, inclusive, and resilient healthcare system powered by digital innovation.
