    • UAE launches national forum to prepare leaders in the medical sector
    • Programme combines academic training and hands-on clinical skills
    • Aims to build a qualified generation for emergency and healthcare leadership

The UAE has launched the National Forum for Preparing Leaders in the Medical Sector, also known as I‘dad, in Abu Dhabi under the slogan “Together for a Ready Nation”. The initiative is part of the National Programme for Medical Readiness and Response (Jaheziya) and is organised by Al Wataniya Training 'Tadreeb', with oversight from the UAE Volunteer and Reserve Medical Team.

The programme aims to train Emirati medical professionals in leadership, emergency preparedness, and specialized healthcare management. It blends academic education with hands-on practical experience to prepare doctors and healthcare workers to lead in public, private, and non-profit hospitals.

Dr. Adel Al Shamry Al Ajmi, CEO of Zayed Giving Initiative and Head of Jaheziya, said the forum is a step forward in creating globally competent national medical leaders. The curriculum is recognized both locally and internationally, with support from top institutions such as the American College of Surgeons and the European Center for Disaster Medicine.
