Ascott Regional Jabotabek marked World Environmental Education Day by strengthening its focus on sustainability education and practical skill development. In partnership with Trilogi University, Jakarta Berkebun, and Trilogi Berkebun, the company organized an action-based environmental program that combined learning, collaboration, and community engagement.
The initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness while equipping participants with practical skills related to urban farming and sustainable living. More than 20 properties from The Ascott Limited portfolio took part, including Ascott, Citadines, Oakwood, Somerset, Harris, Vertu, Yello, Pesona Alam, Pesona Alam Resort, and The Botanica Sanctuary. Their participation highlighted a shared commitment to education-driven sustainability and workforce readiness.
The program began with an interactive learning session led by urban farming and agriculture experts from Trilogi University. Participants learned about modern cultivation methods, plant care, sustainable harvesting, and how urban farming can create future job opportunities in green sectors. The session focused on skills that can support careers in agriculture, environmental management, and community-based enterprises.
This was followed by a hands-on tree-planting activity guided by environmental expert Dr. Ahmad Rifqi Fauzi from the Centre for Urban Agriculture Studies. Participants planted avocado trees, gaining practical knowledge about planting techniques that support long-term growth and environmental impact. The activity emphasized learning by doing, a key approach to building real-world skills.
