Gyeonggi Content Agency Expands AI Talent Pipeline With 1,300 Trainees

  • Synopsis
The Gyeonggi Content Agency in Gyeonggi Province has expanded its AI talent pipeline program, training around 1,300 participants in artificial intelligence skills. The initiative focuses on strengthening Korea’s digital workforce by supporting education in AI development, content creation, and tech innovation to meet growing industry demand.

The Gyeonggi Content Agency has officially launched a large-scale recruitment drive for its 2026 AI Content Campus, opening opportunities for 1,300 participants to receive advanced training in generative AI content creation and industry-ready digital skills. The initiative is designed to strengthen the region’s creative workforce by combining accessible education with hands-on professional development, positioning Gyeonggi Province as a growing hub for AI-driven content industry training.

This fully funded program is structured to eliminate financial barriers and expand participation across different age groups and professional backgrounds. It is divided into two major pathways: a creator education track for 1,150 participants and an expert education track for 150 participants. The dual structure reflects a broader strategy to cultivate both entry-level creators and highly skilled professionals capable of contributing directly to the expanding AI content ecosystem.

The creator education track focuses on youth and general residents who are interested in exploring AI-based content creation for the first time. A key highlight of this track is its outreach-based learning model, where training sessions are conducted directly at middle schools, high schools, and youth centers across the province. These sessions introduce students to foundational digital literacy, including basic device usage, creative thinking, and step-by-step content production techniques. The goal is to provide early exposure to AI content development skills and help young learners explore future career opportunities in digital media and creative industries.

Registration for youth participation began on a first-come, first-served basis starting May 22, targeting educational institutions and local youth centers throughout the region. In addition, general residents can also participate through flexible online learning options available via the G-SEEK lifelong learning platform and the KOCW (Korea Open CourseWare) system. These platforms are designed to expand access to AI competency development programs, allowing individuals to learn at their own pace.

To further encourage participation and project completion, 300 selected residents will receive financial support in the form of vouchers reimbursing up to 100,000 won in AI software subscription fees. This benefit is awarded upon completion of training and submission of a creative content project, ensuring that learners not only gain knowledge but also produce tangible outputs that demonstrate AI content production skills. Recruitment for the first batch of 150 participants in this category is scheduled for June.

The expert education track is designed for individuals aged 18 and above, including university students, graduates, and working professionals residing in Gyeonggi Province. This advanced track focuses on deep technical training and is structured into two distinct modules: a 100-hour specialized program and a 50-hour commercial practical course. The specialized program offers genre-based training in areas such as webtoon production, music creation, and video development, all powered by generative AI tools and industry-relevant workflows.

The curriculum emphasizes advanced prompt engineering, professional portfolio development, and expert mentorship, enabling participants to transition into real-world creative industries. The commercial practical course, scheduled for applications in August, focuses on business-oriented skills including marketing operations, monetization strategies, and digital content distribution models.

Throughout both tracks, learners are guided through structured, project-based training that mirrors real industry environments. This ensures participants not only understand theoretical concepts but also gain hands-on experience in building professional-grade content portfolios aligned with AI-powered creative industries.

Applications for the genre-specific specialized courses began on May 22 and will continue in phases, while detailed registration information and schedules are available on the official website of the Gyeonggi Content Agency The agency has encouraged early registration due to high expected demand, highlighting the program as a key step toward building a future-ready workforce equipped for the rapidly evolving global AI content market.
